Rack Space
Imagineering can offer your business a wide range of rack space options, depending on your individual requirements.
Rack space allocations start at 1RU (the smallest available size) - this allows us to house a greater number of servers in each rack. Whilst technically upto 40 servers can be housed in a single rack, we try not to house more than 20, to ensure smooth airflow and simplify cabling.
We prefer that our clients provide servers that are rack mountable (standard RU sizing, with mounting rails or 'rabbit ears'), as per the styles below. However, we also are happy to host servers that are standard desktop cases. Unfortunately we can not host tower cases at this time unless they can be mounted horizontally.
Network and Power Cabling
Typically we provide one 10Amp power supply and one 100Mb/1Gb ethernet connection. If your server requires more than this, we are usually happy to provide. Each set of racks have their own inline UPS, rated to the size of the equipment in the racks.
Our custom built overhead Cable Management and Ladder Racking provides easy access to all cabling while deterring obstructions and accidental breaks. This also provides space for our support monkeys to swing from when they are a bored.
If you are housing more than 3 servers, we usually request that you provide your own network switch, to which we provide a 100Mb/1Gb uplink feed. This allows you to manage your own data cabling requirements.
Rack Sizes Available
Imagineering provides a variety of rack sizes for the housing of your equipment, although, if desired, we're happy for you to provide your own rack. Our racks are typically 40-45RU in height, and range from 600mm to 900mm in depth.
Our philosophy is to house any sort of equipment you have, so the styles of racks we have are not consistent - there is a good chance that no matter the type of equipment you have, we've got somewhere to put it!
