Internet Data Centre Facilities
In August 2004, Imagineering launched its new Internet Data Centre, a purpose-built high availability facility in Melbourne offering a wide variety of hosting and co-location options.
Many co-locations facilities are large and mostly empty - we decided to build a small, managed facility with space for future expansion if needed. Servers and equipment are shrinking in size every year (with 20-40 1RU servers in a single rack being not that uncommon!), so we have concentrated on building a solid network as opposed to large open spaces.

Power Supply and Augmentation
Imagineering has a dedicated 144kVA power supply (3 x 200A supplies) to the IDC, seperate from the rest of our building and offices. This ensures a quality, reliable and stable power feed for our equipment and clients. This is augmented by a series of UPS units at each rack aggregation point, providing additional safety from spikes and glitches to our valued clients.
HVAC - Cooling and Airflow Management
An advanced HVAC redundant design with air distribution via a false ceiling provides maximum temperature control and cooling redundancy.
Carrier Neutral Colocation
Imagieering's carrier neutrality provides you access to a large number of local Internet, longhaul and wireless carriers to meet all of your connectivity needs. This strategy eliminates restrictive service minimums and carrier requirements typically found in the proprietary collocation offerings of access providers. In addition, customers can guarantee themselves higher levels of redundancy by contracting back-up circuits with disparate providers.
For those customers who do not have prior relationships with specific carriers, we can utilize our high availability services with Uecomm and OmniConnect to provide primary transit to your equipment.
